A clearer path through Arizona long-term care.
ALTCS can be complicated. We help families understand the care side, organize what is needed, prepare for conversations and assessments, and coordinate services once approved.
Straight Medicaid approved; health-plan contracts pending.
Solace Hill is approved for straight, fee-for-service Arizona Medicaid when the person is eligible and the requested service is authorized. Contracts with ALTCS health plans, also called managed care organizations or MCOs, are still pending.
What ALTCS may cover
Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) is Arizona’s Medicaid long-term-care program. For people who meet medical and financial eligibility rules, authorized services may include care in the home and community, personal care, attendant care, respite, and other supports in an approved service plan.
Who tends to qualify
Applicants generally must meet Arizona residency, citizenship or qualifying immigration, financial, and medical-need requirements. Medical eligibility is based on the level of long-term support needed—not on age alone. Because rules and limits can change, families should rely on AHCCCS for an official determination.
Where Solace Hill helps
- 1
Clarify the care picture
We help the family describe current routines, safety concerns, personal-care needs, supervision needs, and the support already provided by relatives.
- 2
Organize questions and documents
We help create a practical checklist for the family. The family remains responsible for official submissions and portal access.
- 3
Prepare for assessments
We explain what care details are useful to have ready and encourage families to describe typical needs accurately.
- 4
Confirm authorization and payment path
Once eligibility is known, we confirm whether the case is straight fee-for-service Medicaid or assigned through an ALTCS health plan/MCO.
- 5
Coordinate approved care
When Solace Hill can accept the authorization, we align the care plan, schedule, and caregiver match with the approved non-medical services.
Start with the official program
